Club History

The combined UNSW–Eastern Suburbs club was formed through the 1999 merger of the University of New South Wales and Eastern Suburbs clubs, described in its history as the 1999/2000 merger.

Its heritage reaches back to East Sydney, established in 1880, and the UNSW Australian National Football Club, formed in 1962. The 1999 date records the combined club’s formation rather than the foundation of either predecessor.
