History & Records
Club History
The GIANTS’ foundation history records its first employee and the Team GWS campaign in 2009, followed by the AFL licence and formal GIANTS launch in 2010. The existing 2009 founding-year value reflects the setup phase; the AFL chronology instead uses 2010. These establishment milestones precede the club’s AFL debut in 2012.
The GIANTS’ reserves entered the expanded VFL competition in 2021 and remain a standalone AFL-club entrant in that competition.
